Thanks alot for the info, I am new to the game and was possible tricked by the HP claims ;) I have run colder plugs in VW before with good resusts, I live in Austin, TX and heat is a constant. I did invest in the TMS/JC chip and am looking forward to the results. Thanx again!

You will foul the XR4CS them on cold days, unless you live where it's warm all the time. There is no HP gain unless you can advance the timing some more and have higher compression pistons. The Turner website is a little misleading when they state you get a 6HP increase. It could be the way the plugs are indexed in the head. Race engine builders know which way the ground electorde should face for best power. Install all the plugs that way (with the use of shims under the seal-washer) and you can get a slight increase in HP.

I say use better gas and have your injectors professionally cleaned/backflushed if you're getting pinging problems. Run the engine hard once the oil is up to temp. Let it relax by driving normally, then park it. You have to "blow" the carbon out of it every so often if you take it on short trips. The S14 runs so rich at cold start that you can get carbon build-up in the cylinder. You really have to warm it up and run it hard every few days. I do, and mine runs like a scalded cat with 173k miles. The Jim C chip helps a lot, too. :D
