Even with 10.5:1 it is possable to boost an engine. The pressure used is low to prevent detonation (5 to 8 PSI). But you will see heafty HP and tourque gains. An S-14 with a new bottom end can easly run 285 peak hp and last. Peak HP is hit for short periods oa time (how long do you stay at WOT between 6000 and 7000 rpm? Less at 285 hp than at 193 hp.)
