Car is 100% stock. It does have the later airbox, but since that's a BMW part, I don't consider that a modification.

You don't need different chips to "match" an airbox or the Evo cam sprocket. The Jim C chip works on all 2.3L engines without cam or other internal modifications such as higher compression pistons, etc. If you give him your specs, he can program a chip that will meet your needs. If you have big Schrick cams, high compression pistons, bigger injectors, different AFM, high compression pistons, 2.5L conversion, etc, you will need a new chip. The regular Jim C chip should work fine with things like a LW flywheel, different headers, euro resonator, and a mild cam change.

I know BMP sells "Hot Chips" that supposedly match your bolt-on performance upgrades. Sounds like a lot of marketing hype. Special chip to match your LW flywheel? Puleeze. Give me a break. Do you need a new chip if you take out the interior or get light wheels, too?

I'm not picking on you, Chris, you just reminded me of the scheisters out there.

James
