All cars have clear coat. they used to use a single stage paint back in the day and now most every thing is 2 stage. 1st stage is the base coat (color) and second stage is the clear coat. without the clear coat, your paint will go to shit after a while. what u should do is get the whole car waxed and buffed. it will bring the shine out. good luck.
