My freon is low and the system needs to be charged. I am waiting on some new bracket bushings I ordered so I can take the tilt out of the compressor alignment. Once I get this fixed I will get the system charged up. Finding a shop to do the R12 is depressing and expensive. It seems like a 134A conversion is inevitable. Has anyone else faced this delema and done the conversion? I see retrofit conversions listed in the ETK but I am confused if this is a complete compressor switch or just new O rings, oil and freon. Any advice or case historys would be helpful.
TIA,
Chris

I might have spelled there name wrong, yet Conrads off of bandera and 410. They work on AC for cars. I got a ok price quote on a rebuild for my ac compressor. you might want to call them to see what they can do? I found a do it your self kit for about 600 on one of these bmw sites.. the main difference in the systems are the fittings that connect all of these parts together are alot different, the holes are larger to accomidate the type of refrigment! good luck!
