Driver and pass Side Mirror Glass Removal...HELP! (archive)

Okay, I was finally able to get a pair of power side mirrors for my car (off a mid 1980's 325). I need to repaint them, but realized they were not identical to the ones that were on my '88 M3. They look the same but unlike the '88 M3 mirrors you cannot remove the glass by accessing the locking mechanism from the drain hole on the underside of the mirror. Can anyone help me out with instructions on how to safely remove the glass.
