Had the same thing. My first reaction: replace thermostat ($70 + 3hrs replacing it in 100degree weather..sucked). Still had the same problem. Replaced the cap (Kragen = $4.98 + 1 minute installation) = problem solved.

lately ive been losing coolant and cant seen to figure out why. today for instance i stated her up and let her warm up for like 5min and after i left there was a puddle of coolant in my driveway. any ideas??????it doesnt seem to be leaking out of anywhere except the overflow in the wheelwell but i am not sure.
any help is greatly appreciated.

A cheap thing to replace that *could* be your problem is the coolant reservoir cap.

They're known to go bad.
