what do you mean by completely destroyed ????
if you mean the center electrode was burned away you may have a lean condition and/or a detonation problem .which if true you better get fixed fast or you will destroy a piston.
you mention a rough idle ,have you checked for leaking intake gaskets ,these leaking could cause both a lean condition and a poor idle .check particularly around the cylinder that had the bad plug in it!
also check your O2 sensor to make sure it is working ,usually if they fail it runs rich but it could happen to bad causing a lean condition.
just some ideas for you
After noticing a drop in power when I downshifted or pushed the revs a little high, I decided to get some new plugs. When I removed them, one was completely destroyed and the others all have signs of something not good (greying and looking brittle). I have only had them for about a year. This doesn't seem right to me, but I am new to higher compression engines. Any thoughts to what could have caused this? I don't wanna have to replace them again in the near future. Also, the car idles a little choppy. Thanks for any help you can give.
