Put a shiny finish on the intake side.The roughness of the port holds a thicker boundry layer that helps keep the fuel off the walls (where is becomes collects and becomes liquid). There should be plenty about what a good finish for the intake side would be on the web. You will have to look beyond BMW and ignore the people saying polishing is good - they don't know what they are talking about.
