Make sure the glove box light is not on all the time. This can happen pretty easy on E30's. Also, how much do you drive the car? There is always a power drain on the battery, but the alternator will not fully charge it without extensive driving at highway speeds. An alternator needs power to make more power. I have to occasionally put my E30 M3 on a charger to get the battery up to full capacity because I do so much around town driving. Also check the terminal behind the panel just aft of the radiator fill bottle. It can get corroded and cause problems. Most mechanics do not even know about this little gremlin.
