1) you're referring to the euro tow hook covers...these only work if you have the EVO air intake (or a cone intake) because they block the air source on the US intake. see turner motorsports for the intake and tow hook covers.

2) I don't have the book you are talking about, but I think on the cabrio e30 M3 there has a dial to select what suspension setting you wanted. I know my parents had an 87 535is that had a "mode" selector in a similar location. Someone correct me if I am wrong here....
