Sorry I can't remember the number it must have been "X-38" or something. I you talk to the dealer about the various Castrol brand diff Oils available from BMW, they can tell you which one, because it is the only one made by castrol for BMW specifically.

There shouldn't be any confusion. Sorry it was 3 years ago when I last changed the diff oil. I don't drive the car much, less than 5k a year.
