1. between the window glass & door handle area going down the side of the car
2. where the fender flares just meet the fender going down the entire side of the car (Darren M's post)
3. at the top edge of the fender flares only with no stripe on the door (as on my car)
4. "M" edition stripes, in the factory colors of the Motorsport division, from the front fender to rear fender (I think Ron Man's white street car has these)
Additionally, I've seen cars like #1 & #2 above that wrapped the stripes around the trunk. Also, I've seen them painted on as well as using the adhesive tape type.
While I know some people don't like them, it is a matter of personal taste. On my car, BMW NA had them applied to just the fender flare area (red & black pinstripes on a white car) as they were the original owners for the first couple of years, so I have no choice but to leave them on since they are painted on.
Besides, they are tasteful...just enough stripe to accent w/out being too much.
If you want to return to factory stock, then I'd say no stripe is the way to go, otherwise find a nice stripe and, in my opinion, have them painted on the car.
Good luck!

what color would a pinstripe be on a hennarot car? I have to repaint a fender and some rock chips and I would like to return the car to its org. paint scheme!! Is there a way to see via purchase papers or anything like that?
