I'm fairly certain there isn't a magical mystical tool to prevent the mirror from shaking. I've placed a piece of neoprene rubber between the arm of the mirror and the windshield, and another piece between the arm of the mirror and the back of the mirror. This has reduced the vibration, but unfortunately has not eliminated it. (My other thought was to drill and tap a hole in the ball and socket portion of the arm, then insert a set set screw to try and stabilize the miror.)

Hope this helps - jej
