i would suggest you look at the clutch master and slave cylinder for leakage and try bleeding the clutch see if it helps one or the other is prolly failing due to lack of use.sounds like the clutch is not disengaging properly
Hi,
I have a 87 car that has been sitting around for a couple of years. I've now got the thing back on the road having just got the car back from the garage after a full head refresh.

When the car is cold I have no problem engaging 1st when stationary but after a while.....say a half hour or so....once the cars hot :) when I come to a halt I sometimes find it near impossible to engage gear. Its not just first...its any gear. I have to blip the throttle a number of times before it goes in. I've read in a technical page that it is due to bent selector forks. Is this the case when I cannot engage any gear when stationary? Could it be something else given that the car has been unused for near on two years. (no I have not just come out of jail)
