Hello Jon,
Recently, I just changed a new filter and fuel pump due to its loud noise. I think you have better to change it soon. After you change it, it will improve your acceleration.
I buy it(Bosch) in Taiwan about $US100. Maybe You can find a cheap one on this website, "catalog.alloembmwparts.com/default.asp?...".
