I would go for the 911 for durability as it has a far less stressed 3.0 litre engine.

Not true the 911SC can break head studs, chain failures (ie) not updated to latest carrera spec. Rubber center clutch can fail. And thats just what I know off the top of my head. Unless the car has been updated in the areas above I would not buy it.
