sounds like you have everything you should need (except a pilot bearing and puller). although i wouldnt replace the seals unless they are leaking .you do not have to drain engine oil to replace rear main seal ,you do need a special tool to remove and install it(so you dont mark the crank seal surface and so the new seal goes in straight)(do not bang it in with a hammer as the tension spring will pop out and it will leak ). you'd prolly have less mess if you do drain the tranny to change the seals and you cannot change any tranny bearings without disassembling the tranny!so if it noisy it needs rebuilding.Greetings,
I'm about to replace my warn clutch, what else should I replace while I'm down there?
So far I've grabbed the obvious clutch disk, pressure plate, and TO bearing. Also an evo flywheel,a rear crank seal, and the three tranny seals. Should I replace an engine bearing at the same time?
Now come the novice questions:
Do I need to drain the oil out of the engine and transmission before I change the seals?
Do I need a special tool to remove the seals, and how do they install?
Thanks for any help given,
George
