I've had the JC chip for 4 years in San Diego. No pinging and passed smog with extremely low readings twice. I keep it in top tune and use Mobil or Chevron 92 octane.

Okay guys, I know a few of you have had pinging with the JC/TMS chip, even with 92 OCT gas. I swapped the chip out and went back to stock. The pinging was gone and the car ran cleaner (failed first smog test w/JC chip and passed the second w/stock chip). I'm just wondering if EVERYONE is experiencing this pinging or is it just those in SoCal. I'm going to swap it out for a Dinan chip to see if it still pings. This pinging side-effect isn't worth the 2-3 extra HP it has over the Dinan.
