no the engine does not need to be running to bleed the brakes ,the pedal will just be harder to push (remember it's called a booster for a reason ,why do you think the car still has brakes when the engine is off). if your leaving the ABS hooked up you will need to cycle the ABS pump though to purge out old fluid in pump.if you have access to a pressure bleeder this will be easier to do by yourself.


OK, so the new rotors have been cryo'ed, the front and rear callipers have been rebuilt and laquered red, the SS brake lines are in place, the new 25mm master cylinder is installed and the new metal brake line is in. Now, the question. Does the car have to be running to purge what's left of the old fluid out and fill it with Super Blue, or can I just pump the pedal. The reason I ask is that I have about a week until I can get to a point to start the engine again.
