I think every magazine or online test I've seen that chooses something other than the V1 has weighted the "less useful" features a little too heavily (IMHO). Although weather and traffic aleat, scrolling text, ect are nice, I rather have the best detector. Also, most magazines have said the direction arrows are next to useless...I disagree.

As my friend says, "Buying anything other than a V1 is like throwing your money away." Take it for what it's worth.

BTW, I'd be surprised if your friend can get a discount, especially a 35% one, on a V1 since they only sell direct. If he can, can you get me a pair?
