The "sensor" for the light is a plastic piece with a section of braided wire cast into it. When your pads get to about 3/16" the wire rubs on your disk and turns the light on. There is one on the right rear and another on the left front calipers. I have seen the light once in over 5 years. It comes on first in the rain. Just look at your pads. How much is left?
