Do u have an oil pan baffle in your car? Just wondering. I hear lots of horror stories of engines waving bye-bye but from what I have heard a lot of M3`s in the UK (even race prepped ones) dont have them, is the baffle issue exaggerated? I have attended a track event without an aftermarket one (but took it easy) and am a bit scared just in case......
I replaced all my suspension with a full (proper, were all the coil springs go over the shocks) Leda coil over setup. I also replaced the rear subframe bushes with hard poly. ones.
On the road - the hard bushes at the back transmit a lot more noise and vibration, in addition the rose joints do likewise. The ride is pretty good as the shocks are adjustable but if you forget to turn them down after a track day, you can read the names of sweets as you drive over the wrappers !!!!
On the track - Harass Ferrari's. But seriously it is fantastic. We have a car proving ground that has a flat out left hander. In the M3 you take it at about 120mph, the car just sweeps through here so easily. The other thing I have noticed is that the car hooks up much better out of the corners, it really puts the power down so well.
Rear subframe bushings
Trailing arm bushings
Diff bushing (or the whole M-Coupe cover)
This stuff can really tighten up the car. Along with new guibo, center bearing, u-joints, tie-rod ends, and the stuff you are doing, this would make your car feel brand new.
Say I decide to replace all shocks, springs, swaybars, control arms (and bushings), add camber plates, add Z3 rear shock tower reinforcements, and install all TMS reinforcement kits. What other items are recommended for addition/replacement at the same time? This is a street car that will see a driver's school / car control clinic now and again and MAYBE one autocross a year - no other track events are anticipated.
For about the same amount of money the above items will cost, I can get a complete Bilstein coilover kit or a full JStock setup, but I don't want a harsh ride on the street. A little help please?
Thanks and take care.
