Anyone know of a steering wheel spacer? (archive)

Does anyone make a steering wheel spacer for our stock wheel? I've decided that I need the wheel closer to me for better control, so what are my options? I'd prefer something I can buy or make at home (note - I don't have sand casting equipment at home). Has anyone come up with a solution short of buying a new wheel that has spacers readily available for it?
