The bolt can be gotten one of three ways:

1 - Get the special BMW tool. It looks like a "S" bent box end wrench.
yeah right!
2 - Bend two wrenches with a tourch
Not likly
3 - The way that works...Get a 17mm socket with a built in "U" joint and 3 1 ft. extentions. You realy can reach the nut from way behind and slightly below the tranny. An impact gun, air or electric will help. Due to the twisting of ALL thoes extentions, you REALY need to put the twist to it. Watch the knuckles!
