Reset the ECU? (archive)

Question for the pros. I had to put in a new O2 sensor and now my car seems to run like crap. Seems like the timing is off or something, but all I did was swap the O2 sensor for a new one. Does something like this confuse the ECU and maybe it just needs some time to settle back in? I tried starting it and turning it off, starting it and turning it off, etc. a few times but that didn't seem to help. Does the car just need to sit overnight, or be driven for awhile or ??
