You can get at that 17mm with a swivle socket or an s wrench but removing the tranny from the bell housing will not get to the clutch. You will need to remove the bell housing from the motor. It's not a big deal and the motor will pivot a bit on the mounts without the tranny mount brace so you can get to the upper 14hex bolts. Good luck :)
on the transmission, there are 4 bolts that connect the tranny to the clutch housing. how the heck do you get the top bolt on the driver side off? I have no socket or wrench that can reach it.
Is there an easier way around getting to the clutch? I haven't driven an M3 in 4 months, and I would really like to finish this before this weekend!
