Alternator Belt? Battery dieing? Need Help. (archive)

How tight should the belt be on the alternator. I checked the tension on the belt and it doesn't seem extremely tight. Just wondering if this can be causing my battery to go dead. Any suggestions? I noticed some squeeking today when I was leaving today.
