Nope, all of the 4 cyl. cars with the exception of the M3 had a smaller differential, the M3 shares the diff design used on the 6 cyl. cars. The gears, bearings, shafts, ltd. slip clutches etc... are all bigger and stronger in the 6 cyl/M3 diff units.

All E30 Diffs are the same .. The only chang is in the M42 318 to my knowlegde I have an M3 Diff with 75k miles for 650 + shipping
