When I bought my car the exhaust was pronounced buggered by my mechanic before I had even seen the car. He said he could have one made locally for a resonable price (NZ$1200.00) so I gave him the go ahead to have it done. The man that made my new system did a great job as it included making a new set of headers as well, as my car is right hand drive. However it just did not sound right and it had some real resonance problems as Jon pointed out in his post. I tried many different types of mufflers/resonators over the next few months but no matter what it sounded like shit! I was going to go back to a factory system to try and solve the problem but the front muffler alone was quoted at NZ$3000 by the local BMW dealer so I gave up on that idea.
The SuperSprint is great and it fits well. Give the DTM tips a go and if you don't like them after a couple of months - Then cut them off!
