There's plenty of pipe back there to avoid such damage. The muffler is only another 3 feet of pipe onto the existing 7 or 8 feet.

Suffering? I know from experience that running without the muffler sounds awesome. Your neighbors (the old boring ones) are the ones suffering. Just don't get pulled over. Do me a favor and let it rip on some Harley riders. Those guys are always trying to deafen me with their straight pipes!

Ok -- for the last few days, I have been running only with a center section on my car (SuperSprint) becuase I am waiting for a muffler (long, stupid story) which should arrive soon. In the meantime, I am suffering with some serious noise. Question is, am I doing any damage with this? Am I risking burned valves?

OPinions appreciated.

TIA
