It does not chime at all, there is one plug going into the chime unit with 3 wires should there be more than one plug.
Does yours chime when it requires a code to start the car i use this code facility a lot.


The chime box is located under the drivers side knee bolster. Does it chime when the key is on and the door open? If it does, your OBC wire plug has probably come loose. There are two plugs that attach into the chime box. The only chime sound I am aware of comming from the OBC is when the outside temp. goes below 36 degrees. Maybe you're expecting different chimes to happen. I'm talking US spec.

Does anyone know if the chime unit can be swiched off on the OBC mine does not work how do you swich it on?... i know that the E34 OBC chime can be swiched off or do i have a fault?
there is no chime symbol on the screen where as my 520 had a little symbol like a speaker.
