I have a 1987 E30 M3 with a noisey rear diff. Will a diff from a 325i sport fit as this is also a LSD or wil it have to be a replacement diff from another M3

A 325is has a 3.73 ratio. You need a 4.10 with limited slip. Some E30 325iC automatics had 4.10 LS. Grab a Roundel magazine and look up in the classifieds and junkyard advertizers. Try and look for the classifieds. You will get raped at a traditional junkyard in your area unless they are BMW friendly.
