I also have a slipping fan clutch. I went to my dealer and he quoted me $350US for the part. Did you buy your clutch from a dealer or from elsewhere? How much did you pay for it?

I bought a 32mm wrench today to remove the fan cluch, but I have no way of un tightning the bolt because the pully housing (is that what it is called) just spins. I've basicly ruined an old oil filter remover strap. So how do i tie that part down?

just for my own sake, this is a reverse thread nut right? so I should push/pull the nut twards the driversid to remove?
thanks

I remember the fan clutch for the E30 M3 was pretty expensive. I bought the one for the E34 M5, including the fan from the M5. IF i remember correctly the fan clutch for the M5 was much cheaper than for the M3. I'll find try and look up the recipt for the price. I bought the fan and fan clutch about 8 months ago, so i don't remember the price.
