I think you may find conversion of a euro E30 M3 to be around $6000-$7000 if done legally by a registered importer.

Then add the purchase price (even if you get a nice one for $4K) and then transport from Europe ($500-$1000).

It will be much cheaper and easier to buy a US model.

It's really only worth importing either a "rare" car or a very expensive one.... Conversion costs are the same...
