Check out the prices on mobile.de and autoscout24.de . Add on the conversion costs, shipping and your travel expenses and you'll see that there are little or no savings for a garden variety E30 M3. You will also be looking at a car that has been caned just to keep up with the traffic on the Autobahn...

Buy a cossetted, low mileage US car and you'll be ahead of the game.

If you want something like a Sport Evolution however, the numbers might just make sense.
