Have you checked your base idle setting? There is a set screw between the throttle bodies. It is inset, you can see it standing on the right side of the car. Try turning it counter clockwise a half turn at a time. This will increase your idle. Have you checked your intake gaskets with the carb cleaner spray as suggested eariler. Maybe they are not the problem. Check the air intake boot for crackes etc. Also replace the timing chain tensioner if your dad hasn't done this yet.

okay, im taking my car to a shop up in palo alto. I am having my intake manifold gaskets fixed( hopefully to cure my rough idle once the enginge heats up) Is there anything else that i should have looked into that any of you guys have had done to your cars? Please give me your info? Also a few weeks ago i had all new spark plugs, wires, belts, and hoses put on, so that area is ok.
