Jon K,
How did you modify the tweeter pods like that? What model of MB Quart tweeter did you use? I was considering doing that, but didnt know what size tweeter to get as a direct replacement. Any tips on the swap? Does it look like stock? Thanks! I did a similar thing to the kick panels to clear the MB Quarts in the front. URL to the pic of my panels is below (for those interested)..

Shoot, you have been through a lot of M3's! I hope those cars were slain on the battle field (track)... It would be a shame to see so many lost in street wrecks! :(

I removed the cheap factory speakers from the plastic casing and mounted MB Quart Seperates in the factory locations with some modifications to the plastic. It took me about an hour to complete both, but when the thieves look in my car, they walk away!! I also modified the front tweeter pods to house MB Quarts as well and I mounted the crossovers in the trunk under the rear shelf way in the back out of site. The only other mod was I changed the Alpine head unit from green amber to red amber to match the cluster and the other instruments that display red color when the lights are on! Oh ya I am not using an amp, only the power from the deck. Also remember when modifing the stereo system...the speaker fader switch by the hazards must remain intact or you will loose the power windows and sunroof! Ask me how I know :-)
