I removed the top cover panel of the glove box, then the passenger side panel exposing the the right side of the center consule. I was then able to remove the electrical connection and the four screws to remove the module.

After replacing the bulbs and checking that they worked, I discovered that the light circuit board had a bad internal connection, i.e. the two prongs at the far side of the module. So beware.

Is the best way to replace the back light on the computer the way posted on bmwe30.net? Or is there an easier way. I currently have my radio out because I am rewiring my speakers for an amp and want to replace the lights now.

I thought of doing it that way when I was rerunning the speaker wire. How did you ever get the screws back in?
