Get a buddy who knows what he/she is doing and have them teach you how to do the adjustment. It is educational and you will get to keep $400-$500 in your pocket. It really is very easy, provided you have the correct tools and the shims of course. There are usually kits with shims and the compression tool available for "rent" from your local BMWCCA chapter of from a fellow club member at nominal cost. Once you see how easy the procedure is, you will be amazed that garages have the gall to charge so much for it :^)

I was talking to a buddy of mine about my car and he was telling me that i should have the valves(cylinder head) ajusted or possibly replaced when i take my car in next month. I also was looking at turner motorsports.com and they also said that it is a week point in our cars. Has anyone had a problem with this before, how much am i looking at for this?
