First off if it has sat for years without being run, or any maintenance in a while, what is the worst case scenario as far as cost to restore anything that may be dried up etc? Perhaps somewhere between $2000 and $3500 maybe?
Big deal! Think how easy it is to spend literally thousands updating an M3 that you can spend 10 - $15,000 to buy and then you still have a relatively high mileage car. It's still got to be worth in the twenties now. It's brand new.
