(1)A front tire could be out of balance, or
(2)A front caliper could be locked up.
The most common cause of an exhaust system rattle is a loose heat shield on the catalytic converter.

when my 88 m3 gets up to 50mph or above, the steering wheel starts to shake, and when i start the car there is a loud rattling noise coming from the muffler. any ideas on what the problem is
