I second the recommendation for Kumhos, except the size is 225/50 ZR15 not 255. :-)

They are *not* as good as Hoosiers but for their cost and longevity I'd declare them a winner. If you're running for some sort of championship that really means a lot to you then I'd go for Hoosiers. A032s are kinda crappy for autoxing but they're a fine tire for driver's schools especially if you've never driven on an R compound tire before. Kumhos are also very good in the rain even when they have very little tread left, standing water will make almost any tire hydroplane. That's why I choose Kumhos, price is right, they last, they stick, good in the rain, and you can use them for both autox and driver's schools. The Toyo R compound is another one to consider although not quite as fast as the Kumhos.
