I looked at a 91 M3 they had, cloth seats, manual windows....£ 11,750......no thanks...
I bought my M3 last year i was told to pay £10,000 uk pounds to get a good one.. i paid £7.5K
so far i have had :-
new intake gaskets £350.00
new timing chain £1000.00 (very costly if it fails)
New power steering rack £300 fitted
fortunately before i got the car it had a new exhaust fitted (1400 from a dealer).
the car is in good condition and used everyday.
Pay attention to the body work, the jacking points can rust so can wheel arches and rear panel round the licence plate lights (this can be put right if you know a good boody shop)
Make sure the car has full history or you may end up spending thousands to put it right.
Currently i drive an '87 L6, and while its fun, loud and kinda fast i want to go faster... I found an 88 M3 in the paper for $6,500 in the st louis area where i live. I have yet to see the car or drive it and i was curious if there is anything i should be cautious of... Its an 88, blk/blk 111xxx mi. Thank you if you can help!
