the chime voice box is under the dash behind the drivers side knee cover. It's 2"x 3" x 1" or so black box. It has two plug inputs on it. one input for the door open chime and one for the obc. Maybe yours has been unplugged. I took mine out on purpose. this is on a US car.
hth, Chris

My OBC chime unit has never chimed whilst i have had the car its an 87M3 has anyone got any ideas?

My e34 520 had a little symbol on the screen when the chime was swiched on like this (((o . Should my M3 have a symbol?
I have heard that there are switches on the back of the OBC what do they do? (i think one is for temperature dispaly) is it possible that the chime has been swiched off?
it is connected cos there is a plug with 3 wires going to it

thanks
