Most cars would probably benefit from custom chips to overcome worn out AFM's, non functioning O2 sensors etc. However, when you replaced those parts your custom chip is going to be useless. In your case you would probably find a couple of hours on the dyno with someone good doing a chip would gain a few HP but I doubt anything dramatic.
At the end of the day, for a road car, it has to be a compromise.

My 88 has the E2 intake cam, exhaust cam gear, Evo air box and a JC chip. While all of these mods work harmoniously, would I benefit more form a custom burned chip?
