Now let me say that I could be wrong about this but I remember reading somewhere that, on a street car it'll cause the engine to take much longer to warm up to proper operating temperature and may not warm up properly at all if you are making short trips. Someone else may have positive winter experience and can correct me but it's probably not necessary anyway unless you live in an area that lacks cold weather. Good Idea for hot summers though...
