I have seen many Canadian winter cars last a long time if properly prepped.

That includes shooting oil in all cavities and under the floorpan and in all crannies. Also use front rubber carpet protectors.

And most important, if there is permanent snow, get some real snow tires, no four season rubber, they are shit in snow.
