The MAF is a good solution but not perfect. The signals that come out of the MAF are nowhere near what comes out of the AFM so at best, you'll be hit and miss tuning.

The key would be to re-engineer a chip to handle MAF input. This is costly (why nobody has done it).

I am going to get rid of that crappy AFM but my solution is going to require an entirely new engine management system.

Just my $0.02

Just saw the latest issue of GRM and they installed a MAF unit in their project M3. Seems to make a significant difference, not to mention meshing nicely with future engine modifications. Does anyone out there have this set up?,does it obviate the need for a chip upgrade?
