do you have the alternator out of the
Car? if you dont i sugest that you take it
out. use a C- clamp to compress the bushing
to the guide then replace the retainer.
take note of the position of the bushing
or belt miss alignment will occur.

The alternator is out of the car. When you said to take a note, were you referring to the way the dowel/retainers are inserted into the bushings? Also, are you saying to press the busings in first, then put in the dowel?

that's correct. if i remember correctly
they are oppose to each other.it will also
ease the process if you apply a little
lube on the bushing. goodluck
